We use infrared (IR) emitters. Instead of trying to heat up all the air in the bathroom—which is a waste of energy—IR goes straight for the target. The result? Your bathroom goes from freezing to cozy the second you flip the switch. The tech behind the warmth To get that “instant” feel, we use short-wave infrared elements. They don’t have a lot of thermal mass, so there’s no long warm-up period. When you hook these up to a smart relay or something like Zigbee or Matter, the lag is basically gone. You aren’t standing around waiting for a boiler to wake up or pipes to slowly get warm. You hit a button, and it’s hot. Period. This means you can set a schedule so your towels are toasted before you even wake up, or just tap your screen while you’re still in bed. And we don’t just blast the heat on and off. We use something called PWM to modulate the power. It keeps the surface at a steady, perfect temperature so you don’t end up scorching your favorite towels. A few things to keep in mind Now, this kind of speed comes with a couple of caveats. Because these IR elements pull a lot of power right at the start, you’ll want to make sure your wiring and circuit breakers can handle the spike. You don’t want your power tripping just because you wanted a warm towel. Also, remember that IR is directional. It’s like a flashlight, but with heat. If you tuck the rail deep into a corner or hide it behind a door, you’re losing that radiative warmth. Put it where it has a clear line of sight to your towels, and you’ll get the most out of it.
