
Stop Waiting on Your Oven to Catch Up
There is nothing more frustrating than a production line that just… stops. You load a fresh batch of cold dough into the oven, the temperature tanks, and suddenly you’re just standing there waiting for the heat to climb back up. It kills your rhythm. If you’re fighting with your thermostat and still getting slow recovery times, you don’t need a setting change. You need a boost. That’s where auxiliary infrared (IR) tubes come in. Why this actually works Most ovens rely on convection—basically moving hot air around. The problem? Air is slow. IR tubes are different. They use short-wave radiation that hits the product directly. It doesn’t waste time heating the air first; it just pushes energy straight into the dough. By adding these as auxiliary elements, you stop that massive “temp dip” that happens every time you open the door. You’re basically injecting a huge burst of power into a tiny space, forcing the oven back to the right temperature almost instantly. The gear you need We build these tubes with high-purity quartz glass because they have to survive the shock of heating up and cooling down fast. We also use a halogen gas fill, which keeps the filaments from burning out too quickly. Most of the time, you’ll see R7s or Sk15 connectors, so you can just swap them in and get back to work. One quick warning:Watch your voltage. If your system runs on 400V, make sure your tube matches. If you get this wrong, you’re either going to see terrible performance or you’ll fry the filament before the first shift is even over. A few things to keep in mind Adding more lamps means you’re pulling more power (kW). Before you install them, double-check that your wiring and contactors can handle the extra load. You don’t want to trip a breaker in the middle of a rush. Also, since IR heat is so concentrated, you have to be careful about where you put the tubes. If they’re all in one spot, you’ll get hot spots. I always suggest a staggered layout. It spreads the heat evenly across the tray so you don’t end up with burnt edges and a raw center.
