When it comes to picking a waterproof infrared lamp, your first instinct might be to go for the biggest wattage available. But here’s the thing: more power isn’t always better. It’s really just about matching the heat to the size of your room. If you put a heavy-duty lamp in a tiny powder room, you’re basically burning money on your electric bill—and you might actually overheat the fixture.
Getting the Size Right
Think about how much space you’re actually trying to warm up. For those small bathrooms (under 4m²), a 250W to 400W lamp usually does the trick. It keeps things cozy without turning the room into a sauna. If you’ve got a massive master bath (over 8m²), you’ll want to jump up to 600W or 800W. Or, better yet, put in a few lower-wattage lamps in different spots so you don’t end up with any annoying cold patches. The cool part about shortwave infrared is that it doesn’t waste time heating up all the air in the room. It goes straight to your skin. You feel that warmth the second you step in.
The “Wet Room” Problem
Bathrooms are tough on electronics. You’ve got steam, humidity, and the occasional splash. That’s why we use sealed quartz glass and connectors that actually keep moisture out.
