Introduction
We built this desktop halogen heater for one reason: to pack a serious punch into a small space. If you’re an engineer who needs heat, fast, and you need it to fit into a snug enclosure or a bench-top setup without forcing a full redesign—this is your answer. It just works.
The Inside Story
Here’s the core of it: we chose 400V and 2500W on purpose. Because when you need serious heat from a tiny footprint, you don’t have room to waste. The 300mm tube concentrates all that wattage into a short distance, so you get intense heat without taking up a lot of room. And that 400V rating? It keeps the current lower than a 230V alternative, which makes your wiring a bit simpler and eases the load on your contactors.
What It’s Made Of
We went with a quartz halogen tube because it’s tough. It handles rapid temperature swings without flinching, and the output stays steady. The halogen cycle keeps the inside of the tube clean, so the performance stays consistent over the life of the element. No surprises. Then there’s the R7s connector—solid, straightforward, and quick to install. It carries the load cleanly, with no extra junctions to worry about.
Where It Shines
This heater is a direct fit when you need heat on demand and predictable control. Perfect for pre-heating small parts, localized process heating, or any equipment that demands high watt density. Just keep one thing in mind: 2500W packs a lot of heat into a small area. You’ll want to plan for airflow and make sure the surrounding chassis is properly isolated.
